DOORS
We could majorly improve the overall appearance of the building by painting all the doors that open onto the courtyard.
We also would like to address the problem of visitors not knowing what unit is what because of the odd numbering system we’ve inherited. The design in the PDF below has both the numbers and letters being shown on each door. We’d use decals for that, which look modern and are relatively inexpensive to have made.
The PDF below has suggestions for a few colors and an example of how the use of bold color has helped the overall appearance of a multi-floor building we saw in San Francisco.
The thought is to paint everyone’s front door one of these shades—with like colors stacked above like colors, and to define the fire exits and other utility spaces in red. The utility doors would have appropriate icon decals.
